ColourPop Creme Gel Liners

Review of Colourpop Creme Gel Liners

When I found out I could get my hands on Colourpop Creme Gel Liners at House of Beauty, I obviously couldn't resist and bought not just one, but six shades to try out! (I got slightly carried away by all the pretty colours...)

The first time I saw these being used was by Kathleen Lights, one of my fave Youtubers. She was wearing the shade 'Maybe' on her lower lashline with a neutral eyeshadow and a Colourpop Gel Liner in the shade 'Workout' on her lid and I just loved the look! It really complimented her eye colour.

Naturally, after watching that video, I added the shade 'Maybe' to my basket as I instantly wanted to recreate Kathleen Lights' makeup look. This liner is a lovely mid-green shade and really suits brown or green eyes in particular. I definitely prefer using this on my lower lashline to add a pop of colour to my makeup look.

I also purchased a strong blue liner named 'Bee Sting'. This shade is great on the lower lashline as well as on the lid to create a small wing. It's a matte shade and is quite a vivid blue as you can see in the photo below.

The next shade is called 'Prance' and is one of my favourites from the bunch I purchased! I can only describe it as a lavender blue which I like to use on my waterline to add a hint of colour. A very similar shade to that is 'Cry Baby'. I also add this shade to my waterline as it brightens my eyes up and is an alternative to a nude or white liner.

I've always loved bronze shades on my eyelids so I couldn't resist 'Show Me', which is a beautiful metallic, copper bronze shade. Similar to this is the final creme gel liner I bought and it is called 'Dirty Talk'. This metallic gold shade just reminds me of Christmas (yes, I'm talking about the 'C' word already!) and I imagine I will be using it a lot over the holidays.

I've been using these creme liners for a few months now and have to say that the staying power of them is incredible. I dont think I can compare it to any other liner I've used. I literally had to scrub my hand with plenty of makeup remover and soap just to get these swatches off! I use these liners on my lower lashline and in my waterline and they hold up very well indeed. I have worn them for twelve hours maximum so far and the intensity of the colour was just as good at the end of the day as it was when I applied it. I imagine they would last for longer, but there's nothing better than wiping off all your makeup as soon as you walk through the front door! (And getting into your jammies of course!)

The consistency of the liners are creamy (as the name suggests) and glide very easily over both your lid and lower lashline. You could probably use the metallic ones to add a bit of shimmer to your eyelid as an alternative to using a metallic shadow, however they would be difficult to blend. There are two downsides to these liners; one being there is no sharpener at the end of the pencil, which I would have expected from a retractable eyeliner; secondly, as the liners are so soft, some of them have broken in transit so they sometimes fall out of the packaging if I am not careful. However, I feel this wouldn't stop me purchasing more colours from the range.

I originally purchased my Creme Gel Liners from House of Beauty, however, they seem to only have a few shades left in stock and I am yet to get a reply about when they are being restocked. As an alternative, you can shop Colourpop Cosmetics on their own website. I also know Colourpop is soon coming to Sephora, which is amazing as they ship internationally and you can find out shipping costs for your country on their website. So hopefully, this will give you two other options to purchase from! I grabbed mine for £7.40 each, which gives you 0.2g of product in total according to the packaging.

Overall, I would really recommend ColourPop's Creme Gel Liners, particularly for their unusual range of colours. There are both metallic and matte shades, so you get the best of both worlds and for the price the quality of the product is amazing.

Which shade would you go for?

  1. I absolutely have to get my hands on Show Me and Dirty Talk. They're the kind of colors I opt for on a daily basis, even though I gotta say that all the rest of the colors are really pretty as well, they're really bold so I don't see myself wearing them often but they could be really great for some occasions.

    1. Yes! I love those shades! The bold ones are great if you fancy experimenting with new makeup looks, but for a subtle change Show Me and Dirty Talk are lovely! x
