The Perfect Travel Companion

I can never decide what I need to bring with me when I go travelling. You're meant to bring just the 'essentials', and I understand that, believe me I do. But, when it comes to makeup, I have quite a few 'essentials' in my bag. As I have been travelling a lot lately, I needed to find a quick way of reducing the size of my makeup bag and ended up buying the perfect makeup palette to go travelling with.

Introducing Charlotte Tilbury's Instant Look In a Palette. I mean, just look at it. Cute, compact and absolutely divine. It's a palette I can hold in one hand and can fit into any small bag. The packaging is sturdy enough to handle a long, hefty trip, but also looks so gorgeous and sleek. Open up the square shaped palette and you are faced with three different eyeshadow shades, two blushes, a bronzer and a highlighter. It's all there! Plus there's a handy mirror for applying makeup on the go.

As I said there are three eyeshadow shades in this palette. The first one is called 'Eye Brighten' and I use this shade to highlight the inner corners of my eyes. It's a lovely light and shimmery shade, which really compliments the other two eyeshadows in the palette.

The second shade is called 'Eye Enhance' and is a medium brown with a hint of shimmer. I like to use this in the centre of my eyelids after applying a base colour as it gives a bronzed golden glow.

The third and final eyeshadow shade is called 'Eye Smoke'. This shade is the darkest of all three and as the name suggests, it can be used to darken the outer corner to give that smokey eye effect. I also use this shade to darken my bottom lash line and add definition to my crease.

This palette has two face shades. The first one being the bronzer which gives a soft glow when applied on the cheeks. I actually like to use this shade as a transition colour on my eyelids simply as it's too light to show up on my face.

The highlighter in this palette is probably my favourite shade. It gives a soft, natural highlight when applied to the cheekbones; perfect for a day time look. There's a lot of product too since both shades for the face come in slightly bigger sizes.

There are two blush shades so you can switch it up from a day time look to more of an evening look. The first shade is a lovely warm brown with a red tint to it. It also has a slight shimmer, which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I actually like to use this shade on my eyes as well to really give them an autumnal look. The second shade is the one I use most during the day and is a light pink colour. It gives a really natural looking colour to the cheeks and is a matte shade so theres no shimmer, which is what I prefer in a blush!

I originally viewed this palette as a summer time palette, however, it could easily be used to transition into autumn too with its gorgeous brown shades and that darker blush! This palette comes in at £49, which is quite pricey. However, the color pay off is amazing and the shades apply so smoothly. I have been using this palette everyday for the past six weeks and have barely made a dent in any of the pans, so this will definitely last me a long time. If it's above your price range, keep an eye out in the sales as I know it was reduced for a limited time before.
